More Than 86,000 People Applied For 600 ‘Game Of Thrones’ Extra Roles In Spain | October 24, 2014



Filming for the fifth season of HBO’s hit series Game of Thrones has been underway for the last few weeks in various locations in Spain, and locals and fans alike have been trying to get a look at the action. Earlier this month, fans and media members crowded the gates of the Real Alcázar de Sevilla, which served as the home of House Martell, but that was nothing compared to the excitement and enthusiasm in the town of Osuna, where a big battle scene was being filmed at a bullring yesterday.

A production company put out a casting call for approximately 600 extras, according to Entertainment Weekly, and the response was just a little overwhelming. More than 86,000 people submitted applications, which was way more than the company’s servers could handle.
